Choucroute Garni
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
4 large boneless pork chops (1/3 pound each)
2 links Pottstown's Smoke Roasted Sausage, sliced
2 tart apples, peeled cored and sliced
2 cans (14.5 ounces each) Sauerkraut, undrained
1/2 cup Sweet Riesling wine
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mix together the Italian seasoning, salt and black pepper. Coat a 6 quart slow cooker with non stick spray. Layer potatoes, pork chops, Smoked Sausage, apples and sauerkraut, seasoning each layer with a small amount of the seasoning mix. Sprinkle the remaining seasoning mix over the sauerkraut and pour the wine over the top.
Cook 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.
Remove pork chops and cut each into thick slices against the grain. Stir back into the mixture and serve.
